I've just been nosing around on the motinfo.gov.uk website, it now has logs of all the previous MOT tests done on your car (well, the computerised ones anyway)

Check out last years results:

Date of test: 17/05/2007

Certificate issued (Pass)

Odometer reading: 142,950 Miles

Test number: 434977037163

Test expiry date: 09/06/2008

Full Test History, starting with first recorded vehicle and test results

Date of test: 26/05/2006

Certificate issued (Pass)

Odometer reading: 133,207 Miles

Test number: 630586146153

Test station name: LILLINGTON AUTO SERVICES

Test station number: 55464

Test station telephone number: 01926422865

Test class: IV

Test expiry date: 09/06/2007

Advisory Notice issued

Nearside Front REAR BUSH suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement (2.4.G.3)

Offside Front REAR BUSH suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement (2.4.G.3)

Date of test: 11/05/2007

Certificate issue refused (Fail)

Odometer reading: 142,944 Miles

Test number: 131451537112

Test station name: LILLINGTON AUTO SERVICES

Test station number: 55464

Test station telephone number: 01926422865

Test class: IV

Reason(s) for refusal to issue Certificate

Hazard warning switch faulty (1.5.A4c)

Nearside Front brake hose bulging under pressure (3.6.B.3)

Nearside Front REAR BUSH suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated resulting in excessive movement (2.4.G.3)

Offside Front REAR BUSH suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated resulting in excessive movement (2.4.G.3)

Nearside ZERO READING rear parking brake recording little or no effort (3.7.A.7a)

Parking brake efficiency below requirements (3.7.A.9/10)

Advisory Notice issued

Nearside Front OUTER brake disc slightly pitted (3.5.1h)

Nearside Front brake pad wearing thin (3.5.1f)

Offside Front brake pad wearing thin (3.5.1f)

Nearside Rear brake pad wearing thin (3.5.1f)

Offside Rear brake pad wearing thin (3.5.1f)

Now, I assume all the other bits were fixed, but WTF is going on with those rear bushes? First of all, they were deteriorated, and then a month later they were still deteriorated, but not as badly?

And what's going on with the mileage? It managed to lose nearly 10k miles between the first test and the second one!

I'm sure it's just a mistake or something, but all the same, I'll be careful about walking in front of it from now on....
