I already posted about Japanorama, which I now have vague intentions of revitalising some day maybe...

However, a conversation on the way home from the pub the other night made me remember the web links at the bottom: http://forum.yourwired.net/index.php?c=2

Very sadly, despite Beltching Matt's attempts every two years to resurrect it, since Jellybabe's "problems" "SciFi Geek" is basically dead. I suspect the only thing my link is doing is adding to the amount of spam on there. I suspect it's our fault because it's mostly for Oriental stuff!

Likewise CPCFF. All the recent posts are spam. Not surprising really when you think that CPCF is dead.

I'm also thinking of removing Strawberry Crush simply because it's more of a personal site.

So, that only leaves "the other place". Perhaps I should just chop the entire section off? That way the forum home-page will actually fit on one page

Thoughts?

Personally, I never use those links. In fact, I don't ever go on to any of those sites!

So I wouldn't miss them myself if they went, and I'd suppose that anyone using them will have bookmarked them by now (It's been nearly seven years, after all! )

It's sad to see places dying like that - especially CPCFF, I remember being there at the start. However, they never really bothered trying to attract new members, and the latest design is frankly horrible.

I guess the likes of farcebook has had an impact on the forum scene over the last few years?

Yeah it is sad, but I guess people move on. They're gone now.

I'm amazed this place is still going after so many years

I must confess to largely being in the 'lurker' category on here (and 'lurcher' after I've had a few too many).

Glad to see it's still going though; never really frequented any of the other places.

I was quite an active member of Mark's scifi forum in it's hayday. However since the dennis forums collapsed and x404 took off there really hasn't been any activity there. What would be discussed there, such as movies and Dr Who are now more actively discussed at x404 than at anytime in either of the other two.

I haven't been to CPCFFC since I split with my ex wife. Not related, just a consequence.
