Tor / Bitcoin

Anyone here using it?

I'm wondering if it is a hinderance and resource hog compared to common internet provision?

I'm all for anonymity and not looking at doing anything nefarious, yet!

I'm also interested in Bitcoin, and hoping it may be useful to send money abroad / exchange without paying exhorbitant fees and rates. </div>

It is interesting, but I've never used either. Mostly used for CP and drug dealing from what I've read.

Some people did make quite a lot of profit trading in bitcoins but the boat has sailed there. Now the value is rather unstable. </div>

I've used it when being a naughty troll and for using BT openzone hotspots which don't block sock connections </div>

I think bitcoin has a future, and not just for paying for drugs on silk road. It has been unstable, but I think stability will come as more people use it, and when creases are ironed out. Of course the potential for laundering, gangsters and black markets is high, but I find the idea that PayPal, Western Union and over the counter bank fees for sending money internationally can be avoided is a wonderful thing. </div>
