A not so silly announcement. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Our founder and friend, JJW009, passed away today after a long battle with cancer.

A great bloke who will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

RIP Mate.

It's so hard to know how to feel.

We cracked open a bottle of a much beloved Monkey Shoulder Whisky last night and sat in the dining room having a smoke and a drink. All my favourite memories of JJ are involving parties, both at his house and at ours when we were finally able to entertain. I have so many memories that make me smile, sipping various beers and wines at the beer festival, the constant joke about whether or not JJ would remember the pudding before midnight, cooking on an open fire in JJ's back garden, jumping the fire, our handfasting last year, the soft toys, the loud music and the laughter.

I'm glad that the end was peaceful and that he wasn't in pain, but at the same time I am selfish and I miss him already, JJ and Jez are so central to my relationship with Red, it feels like we've always been four and it's been part of my life with Red for as long as I've had a life with Red.

Be at Peace JJ and I'll meet you at the garden gate.

^ Fezzes are cool! <!--emo&B)--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/cool.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='cool.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I'd like to say thank you to all of JJ's friends, both on here and in real life. You've been brilliant!

Sitting at home at visiting time feels very strange after all those weeks. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

A mutual acquaintance once said that JJ's and my friendship was dysfunctionally co-dependent, I guess there was maybe a grain of truth in that; I suppose now I'm just going have to get better at being dysfunctional on my own. It's odd how little things can be so upsetting; when my dad was taking me back to the hospice this morning to pick up my car and JJ's things, the display on his dashboard said it was still Monday morning - I'd have given anything for that be true.

Good bye old friend. You were, indeed, awesome.

I can imagine it feels odd, visiting JJ has become a routine with you, whether it be at his house or the hospital or the CS Hospice, it'll take you a bit of time to get used to the change again I guess.

Dysfuntionally co-dependant I'm not so sure about, long term and companionable best friends is probably closer to the truth <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> it's not as though you refused to do anything if you couldn't do it together! <!--emo&:lol:--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' /><!--endemo--> He'll always live on through our get-togethers and in our hearts, it's the cliche that those we have loved never truly leave us and I think it's true for JJ.

Feel free to be as dysfunctional and companionable with us as you like, you'll always have a bed at Chez Red as and when you want to get away, I'm looking forward to sharing a whisky with you in the not too distant future, the Winter Solstice is next Saturday after all and it would be nice to mark the change in the length of days as the Holly King pitches himself in the battle against the Oak King, seems like an appropriate celebration of the wheel of the year and the wheel of life.

Always here xxx

As I said in X404, the world seems a little less silly... and in case anyone didn't notice... I'm back!

I never met JJ, but had enough online conversations/laughs with the guy to know he was a true gent. Something that is becoming increasingly rare in the world today.

Sleep well, virtual friend. :-(

Seeing as pretty much the last thing Jason did for me was set up this account it would seem wrong not to use it.

As i'm a man of few words i'll keep this short...

I'd just like to say thank you to jez and his family for today's lovely ceremony. Jason would be very proud.
