aaargh!

stupid work computer won't let me view the page.

and i don't have internet at home right now 'cos i've just moved house.

so i'm just going to have to pretend that the game is rubbish and i wouldn't have liked it anyway.

I played it for 10 minutes. I like it, silly tank shooting game.

I love little Java games... my old website was goiung to be dedicated to them, but I seem to waste all my time sleeping and chatting these days; I've never really gotten anywhere with it!

Anyone remember Elite? there are lots of new versions of it - but I found this one on line:

yeah i remember elite!

i still play it occasionally (well, frontier anyway). has to run from a boot floppy though, as winXP seems to have difficulty with the concept of extended/expanded memory

(and MS-DOS can't seem to figure out what NTFS is either)

when i played elite years before, (elite plus, with filled polygons and everything!

) i discovered that there is a rating above elite! once you get to elite status, keep playing for ages, and you'll get promoted again. it'll be something like $*^*~#`.

There are LOADS of freeware versions of Elite... I've still got the original Acorn Electron version on TAPE ... and all my saved games on another C15 tape, bet it doesn't work any more...

I was Elite... but it took me sooo long I never sent off the post-card 'cause the competition finished years before! It took me several years of school, and 3 years of college... I'm crap at games!!

Thats why I like this little tank game <img src='http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' />

TBH, it's a bit boring now, mainly 'cos of my 'modified <img src='http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /> ' MK3 cobra:

mass: 1 ton

internal capacity: 5,000 tons

shields: 300

100MW lasers (front, rear and turret)

every piece of equipment you can possibly get

(wonder how i got that?

)

i still get people in eagles etc with 1MW pulse lasers attacking me and saying things like 'prepare to die!' yeah, right.....

i think i might trade it for something a little less invincible, so it's at least a bit challenging......

Yeah, thats the problem with a lot of games... when you're all kitted out it gets too easy, but if you start from scratch it is Soooo boring! Trading food from Lave to wherever...

You have 100 credits... what will you buy?

TurboTanks does work in Firefox! Maybe you've got Java turned off or something?
