It does, honest to god. You can't stream video clips from youtube etc., they have to be downloaded first, and it takes a bloody age.

I just got 14484 kbps from speedtest.net

So a fast connection but the isp screws you. There's a surprise.

I can download torrents at the full 1Mb/s but I can't stream Youtube, except if its a simple one and I log in when America is sleeping. I think maybe some ISPs cache a lot of the content, but mine doesn't so I have to wait for their slow servers.

Either that or my ISP throttles Youtube but is OK with torrents, which doesn't seem likely <img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' />

Of course, it might be the connection to America. Try playing some video off a local news site and see if that works faster..?

When I woke up yesterday morning I thought I would give the speedtest another hit while it was off peak, and the result was appalling, somewhere sub 2Mbps. Well I've just tried again now and this is what I get early afternoon.

Which looks great, but it is still appalling to use the thing. Probably similar to having an F1 car on a dirt track.
