lol - sounds like my Fiat 127, the speedo cable was well kinked

I got it upto 72mph once - that was down the A34, a nice long down-hill streight

My TR7 does that as well - I was driving down to see the family the other day, going along a duel carriageway, and was doing 70 - according to the speedo. As I watched, though, the needle suddenly jumped up to about 87!
