The silliest thing you saw today?

Post by JJW009 »

I have lots of work to do, and only 36 minutes until midnight. Therefore obviously I am on Wikipedea reading up on Physics beyond the Standard Model and CP Violation.

I unexpectedly encountered a penguin. I found the story amusing:

<a href='http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penguin_diagram' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penguin_diagram</a>

One evening, she, I, and Serge went to a pub, and she and I started a game of darts. We made a bet that if I lost I had to put the word penguin into my next paper. . .

For some time, it was not clear to me how to get the word into this b quark paper that we were writing at the time. Then, one evening, after working at CERN, I stopped on my way back to my apartment to visit some friends living in Meyrin where I smoked some illegal substance. Later, when I got back to my apartment and continued working on our paper, I had a sudden flash that the famous diagrams look like penguins. So we put the name into our paper, and the rest, as they say, is history.

A great picture for the top of page 100.

There are plenty more fish in the sea, get your tackle out and see what bites.

He is pretty damned handsome, isn't he <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I imagine you'd need a pressurised salt water tank and a billion pounds worth of tech to keep one. Probably wouldn't even be able to see him through all the steel, so best leave them to the divers to occasionally scare with their giant flash cannons <!--emo&:lol:--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I don't know how to describe this: <a href='http://christwire.org/2012/02/is-tumblr ... -children/' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Christwire</a>

I've not seen the site before and I've only read a couple of articles, but they amused me quite a lot. The pie from that one is possibly accurate, and this blending of truth with fiction is how all great satire / satanic deception works.

This is actually from a few weeks ago, but I just found the picture on twitter. A certain shady person of the lamp kind had a "filthy Friday challenge" involving doughnuts filled with fried sausage, egg, bacon and brown sauce. Yummy!

Even ignoring the diet thing, the thought of that still has the effect of making me feel ill <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I've had to force myself not to join in with those opposite celebrity image macros. <!--emo&:lol:--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' /><!--endemo-->

On a more political note:

<img src='http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b354/ ... 7966_n.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'>

Obviously a strongly worded letter to The Times is much more pro-active.

Funnily enough this image comes from a serious website. <!--emo&:unsure:--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/unsure.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='unsure.gif' /><!--endemo-->
