Hardy Spicer Outputs?
Random Question.
Are hardy spicer outputs as good as POT joints on a drivshaft?

On a driveshaft? No.
UJs (AKA Hardy Spicer) are great within certain limits, but they suck big time as soon as you try and put any torque on an extreme angle. Due to the design, they'll lose torque and become jerky the further out of straight they become. Therefore, they're pretty rubbish on a driveshaft.
On the other hand, for something that has a narrow range of movement (eg a propshaft), UJs are pretty good due to their simplicity and ease of maintenance.
What you really want is a Thompson coupling, unfortunately you can't yet get them small enough for driveshafts. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
On a random note, I didn't quite get what you meant by a POT joint (turns out it's another name for CV joint), so I had to google it. Try googling for 'Pot joint'!

Ah....crappit.
The 7.5 disc's I'm buying come with hardy spicer on them rather than pot joints.

I might be wrong in this case then; if they come with that, there may well be a good reason.
What I said relates to general usage, I don't really know mini stuff these days. <!--emo&:$--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/4013/140/emo/blush.jpg' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='blush.jpg' /><!--endemo-->

A Riley!
Now that's something you don't see too often... Any reason for it, or just something you fancy?
I'm thinking about getting a Hillman Imp next year - bags of fun!
