Maybe the next 24 thread will have more than 1 entry <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

We seem to have lost paulpowers - anyone seen him anywhere recently? johnvella is always working too much these days too; so yes - new members very welcome!

The next 24 thread will be on December 24th - just 2 days after Yule, the Winter solstice, d&#333;ng zh? (&#20908;&#33267;), time to sacrifice that pig to the god Freyr and feast on Ham, or celebrate Yalda, Saturnalia, Christmas, Karachun, Hanukkah, Festivus, Kwanzaa or HumanLight depending on your faith!

I shall be celebrating the festival of Munchy-Drinky :lol:

Yo Dude - I'm gonna quote you on that!!!

Anyone with a -tan icon is very very welcome :P

There's a "Simpsons Quote" thread in the meeting place btw :D

I remembered your first post on the other place... and I looked it up!

you said wrote:Hi newbie here

I figure the beer thread is the best place for an intro

A housemate, our landlord and I once made our own still to treat the apple and pear wine we made. Distilled apples are wierd tasting - they also make you defecate through the eye of a needle. Avoid.

My favourite is Theakston's Old Peculier.

I said wrote:Old Peculier is rather good; used to drink in when a local bar sometimes got a barrel in.

Distilled Cider is Calvados and can be rather tasty! Not sure about the after effects...

Any way; Welcome!

you said wrote:Many thanks for your kind welcome.

There's also a riproarer of a beer by Firkin Ales called Dogbolter. It's 5.6% which doesn't sound a lot. That is until you drink four pints of it after playing a five hour american football match. I actually screamed when I finally got off the coach and had a slash. :blink:

Bloody great start!!!
