Before I passed my test, I found it pretty difficult to get a bus from Northampton nevermind London.

The buses are not very frequent. There's one at 18:00 if she could catch it. The next one is 18:30 which arrives at 21:45, and the next one is the 21:30 which arrives at 23:25. She'd then need to get a cab or bus to mine.

It takes 3 hours to get from her house to mine if your timing is super lucky. If she could get home after work and packed by 7pm, according to "traveline" using the fastest trains she'd arrive at my house at 23:12 - so yes, it's possible. Not much fun though!

Suggestion number 1 was to come to MK on Friday and I'd pick her up after work. It's rather short notice though, because she'd have to pack tonight and leave directly from work. It might also be a bit tight on timing because I need to go shopping tomorrow and it's over an hour's driving from office / MK / Tesco / Home. EGL is on holiday tomorrow, so I doubt I'll be able to leave before 6pm.

OK it's decided!

We'll pick up Zabz from MKC after Silverstone. It's about 13 miles in the wrong direction, but it's mostly the A5 so it shouldn't take long if that's OK with everyone?

Glad you had fun, we had a great day too. Thanks for the results link, I shall look it over during my lunch break <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

On the subject of Saturday, We've hatched a plan for next year <!--emo&:whip:--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/4013/140/emo/whip.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='whip.gif' /><!--endemo-->

We're going to save up and buy weekend tickets and camp over at the circuit for the weekend. That way we can see all the races without feeling like we're missing the paddock stuff, and wander happily around the paddocks without worrying about missing the races. It also means we don't have far to travel and don't have to worry about carrying everything round with us. Does anyone else think that sounds like a good plan?

I only mention it now because if you want to, it'll give you time to organise tents etc beforehand, or at least put it in your mind.....or, knowing you lot, perhaps not <!--emo&:lol:--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Anyway, I personally had an amazing day and was so pleased to be able to see such fabulous cars, up close and on the track!! Roll on 2011 <!--emo&:aha:--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/4013/140/emo/aha.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='aha.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Due to the really quite small distance between Silverstone and my nice comfy bed, I don't think I'll be camping! I might, however, get a weekend ticket next year - I think the trick is go on the Friday and go around the paddock and car club areas before there are any races to miss.

By the way, I found out what happened to cause the GT race to be red flagged:

Just a reminder to all:

<a href='http://www.stratfordfoodfestival.co.uk/' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Stratford Food Festival</a>

It's on the last weekend of September, if anyone's interested in coming.

Unfortunately it looks like I'll be working for all of it <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo--> and possibly Mrs Red as well, but if you fancy coming over and staying we can have some drinkies after it closes.

Interested? Tickets are currently ?5 each but I'm sure I can sort out some freebies. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I think I'm free that weekend, but Zabz is working. Rather sad if everyone else is working that weekend <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Hopefully we'll make up for it on Pirate's Day <!--emo&:Aaarghh:--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/4013/140/emo/pirate.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pirate.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Zabz and I are planning on coming up and doing "the tourist thing", and then on the Saturday evening (the 18th) coming to visit yourselves, your fish and your cars <!--emo&:lol:--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' /><!--endemo-->

If it's OK with you, then we'd love to stay over. We'll definitely bring booze, and finally Mrs Red will get her really very belated birthday bits <!--emo&:unsure:--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/unsure.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='unsure.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I'm looking forward to meeting the fish, sorry to hear about the water issues, I hope they are all better.

I love tropical fish and have always wanted to keep some so I tried with goldfish first - good job.. I managed to kill off Wallace, Gromit stayed alive a little longer. Then I got 49 and 'what's his name?' to keep Gromit company, they all eventually carked it...

I think I'm a serial fish killer so better not let me too near them... I'll just look at them from a distance....

I'm a lot better with dogs, not too sure about cats although I love them and look after them they tend to disappear or die on me too early.....

Cam dies aged of 2 1/2, he had a whole in his heart but the Vet gave him 5yrs and more with medication... - he died in his sleep...

Tiggy, who I first met when she was 5 days old, disappeared 3 months before I left Brussels, she was 3 1/2. I spend the whole 3 months looking for her but nothing. One of my friends in Brussels has promised to take her in if she ever comes back...

OOops - sorry for the tangent!!

Back to Pirate Day - Ooooooo ERRRRRrrrrr!!
