KW is turning up about 6pm and I can't start cooking until he gets here. Starters should be ready by 7pm. I'm still in "cleaning frenzy" so don't arrive too early or you won't be able to sit down!

I think it went OK. With hind site, the weather was lovely on Saturday so it would have been good to do the burgers on the BBQ rather than on Sunday when it was precipitating it down.



I also think the drunken apples and pears needed a LOT more booze! Next time I'll add some spirits after they're cooked, because I think I boiled off most of the alcohol. I also forgot to put the cloves in. It's a new recipe for me and still needs tweaking, but I thought they were rather tasty anyway and I've just finished them up.



I'm not eating any meat in the run-up to Diwali, so having eaten my own body weight in pig-sheep this weekend I think I'll last quite well <!--emo&:lol:--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Yep, that works better. I made a mini one-pear version with about twice as much gin as I used for 5 people, and I remembered the cloves.

Ostara & Roasted Pig



I bought a large pork joint on Saturday. KW and I ate a little of it, and I used some of it for a stew. I've just de-boned it, rolled it up and stuck it in the freezer. The bone is boiling now and I'll have that for tea tonight.



The boneless rolled joint weighs in at 3lb 12oz. Does anyone want to help me eat it because it's a bit big for two!? I was thinking next weekend is Ostara which might be a good excuse <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->



Anyone free?

I don't think we'll be able to make it on this occasion, Mr Red has some pretty serious work to do on Gordon <!--emo&:whip:--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/4013/140/emo/whip.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='whip.gif' /><!--endemo--> and we're going to try and get some house viewings in (if I can find any likley candidates at least) so we'll already be pretty busy.



I'll see what comes up during the house hunt today, and have a chat with the Mister about it, one of us will get back to you asap.

Hey JJ, are we still welcome tomorrow night? We haven't had a call about the house yet so we may be free tomorrow after all. Red reckons he can get Gordon done in the afternoon, so the timing is the only thing we won't really know yet.



Part of me is hoping that they call tomorrow morning and we can view the same day, but I'm not holding my breath. Fair enough. I've convinced myself already that we won't get a call today, I'm disappointed but more importantly it means another weekend of uncertainty which is rubbish!



Mr Red is going to get on with Gordon after breakfast (well, when he wakes up anyway) and I'm going to sort out some plants. We'll definitely be coming to yours tonight so what time do you want us?
