Happy New Year!

As I may have said once or twice; I would like to think of myself as Hindu. I'm not and never will be 100% but that doesn't stop it being my preferred religion, followed by Buddhism in a highly respected second place. I have a high regard for Sikhs too, although that is more complicated.
Well today is the new year, and having failed to celebrate Dewali I happened to turn on the radio as I went to bed just now. There was a guy on radio two talking about Dewali, the feasting and the tradition that no one within 10 miles should go hungry. He then went into what I always considered a Buddhist story of heaven and hell. I told this story to my Hindu girlfriend about five years ago and she hadn't heard it!
In hell, there are seen tables of food and starving desperate people. The rules are that you can only eat using the 6 foot long chop sticks, so no one can eat.
In Heaven there are seen tables of food, and happy well fed people.
An observer commented: "No 6' chop sticks here?"
God replied: "Same rules, but here the people have learned to feed each other"
It's my favourite story. Just wanted to share <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Be Excellent to one another!
