I dunno about American cars - I thought they were big on safety. They have to be - idiot 14 year old drivers!

Big bumpers & airbags etc years before we had them, and they're all gas guzzling tanks you could probably drive through a wall without stopping...?

Of course... that all means they can't go round corners. Or stop.

What did they have to fix on yours? anything expensive, or just an emmision tune up?

eek, that reminds me, the MOT on my Disastra is up for renewal this month <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I know for a fact the brakes need sorting out....the drivers seat keeps moving around....the windscreen washers don't work....and God only knows what horrors I'll find under the bonnet (haven't been under there in a few months  )

I can see it now:

FOR SALE: 1994 Vauxhall Astra 1.4 - little work required for MOT
