Well, I'm off to France tomorow night, so I thought its time to top-up my mobile. I don't use it much at all, but I checked it last week and it was working fine.

Now it says "problem with subscription" and it doesn't work anymore!

I tried on the website, but it says I can't log in because I don't have a vodafone number - which I do.

I phoned 191 like it said, and I got told it was the wrong number. He gave me a premium rate number to dial. Sod that! All I wanted to do was give them ?10 and they won't let me!

Well, I guess I won't be taking my phone with me.

That's the last time I ever buy a phone <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

:edit: ok I gave in and wrang the number; they cut me off on Tuesday because I didn't spend enough money! Tuesday! Aaarghh!! If they'd just waited a few more days they'd still have me as a customer!

Apparantly I can't re-activate over the phone or the internet, I have to go to a Vodafone center. Stuff that!

yep, I gave up with vodafone, for pretty much the same reasons.

If your phone is unlocked (ie takes any sim), just stick in a sim card from another company - I'm with O2, and have had no problems with them - and they have a habit of giving away free sim cards <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

if your phone is locked, there's plenty of places around that will take care of that for you for a tenner or so <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I've just looked at the Vodafone site again:

Clicky!

Vodafone wrote:Up to ?3 credit, equal to 60 minutes call time, for only ?1.99

It looks like I can get a new number, and new sim etc for ?1.99 - which is cheaper than it would have been to top-up my old sim! How stupid is that? Just buy a new sim every 6 months :o

I might be able to get one at the airport I guess... I'll find out in about 30 hours!

that's typical behavior i'm afraid; spend all their time getting new customers in, much more profitable than looking after the ones they already have.

Ba**ards! :angry:
