I now know that I am a non-smoker.

How do I know?

I need to set fire to something and I can't find a light !!!!

That is so true.

As I smoker I would accumulate lighters, normally having a couple in each room I smoked in and several more dotted around.

When I stopped they soon disappeared as the other smokers I knew thieved them. In the end I had to attach them to lead diving weights.

OK I seriously want to kill my cam-corder...

I needed fire for a thing.

I did my thing. It didn't work the first time - I have a 10 minute video of it not working.

I made more fire.

I replaced the CF card.

I pressed record & the little orange light came on.

It Worked!

Usually I can't stop the damn thing recording! I have loads of videos which end with "I can't turn it off - I think it's crashed again" and a nice shot of my feet <img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' />

Tomorrow seems like a nice day for fire. I like fire. MORE FIRE MWA HAHAHA!!!

The shitty miniDV camcorder I have is abysmal, but it's better than nothing. I spent ages yesterday trying to work out why it wouldn't record but the SD lock was engaged. It turns out that the DV won't record if it is engaged, but you can do what you want to the contents from a PC if it is being used as a card reader.

lol - that means your PC card reader is a bit faulty! The whole point of SD is that it is Secure !!!

I can't write to a locked SD in my lappy, but to be honest I've not tried in any of my other 3 or 4 card readers.

I just realised - I have more card readers than floppy drives now <img src='http://i2.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' />

The PC uses the miniDV as a reader, it doesn't have one of its own. That's why I was confused for so long.
