Greece is split into many provinces and one of these is SPARTA!. Unlike the other provinces where men join the army after work (dads army lol) the Spartan army is only an army, and therefore they are the best warriors of the time, in fact they would probably kick some fluffy kitten today. They even discarde there small and deformed children The Master Chief in Halo is part of the SpartanII project so that should also be an indicator.



Well king Leonidas wants to take the army to kick some persian butt but the elders don't let him, to get around this he takes his personal bodyguard of 300 men out for a walk. They meet up at a position that can be easilt defended and then hold out for a couple of days against the massive persian army.



Now the film is based on a graphic novel which is based on the true story, so there is certainly some artistic license involved. Although they were all killed the 300 gave enough time for the Greek fleet to prepare for and destroy the Persian fleet later on.



Tis a good film.
