Depends, the only teliport theory I've heard of involves evaporating you, saving your structure to disk. Sending the data then rebuilding you. Making you a clone of sorts with a evaporated twin.

Yep. You get cloned at the new location and then the original gets "converted into energy" - i.e. burned alive.
